4x6 Postcards – SINGLE or DOUBLE SIDED PRINTING

We print 4x6 postcards on premium, heavy weight paper. Type and images can be combined on one side or both sides of the postcard. This a great way to communicate effectively and economically, as you are not tied in to large commercial runs. Quantities start as low as 100, so you can order new postcards every time you get a new "look" or headshot, or as needed. Costs include scanning, design & layout. A free proof print* is included with every new order. A re-order CD is only $5.00 at the time of printing.

Comp Cards – DOUBLE SIDED – up to 6 images

We print our 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" Comp Cards on premium, heavy weight paper. Type and images are combined on both sides of the card to make a unique marketing tool for your most important asset -- yourself. Quantities start as low as 100, making this an economical answer to high quantity minimum runs you might find elsewhere. Pick from one of our templates, or give us your design ideas. You can have up to 5 images: one on the front and up to 4 on the back. Prices include scans, design services and agency logo placement at no additional cost. Free proof print*. A re-order CD is only $5.00 at the time of printing. Retouching is available starting at only $35. and up.

Business Cards - SINGLE or DOUBLE-SIDED PRINTING

Photo business cards can be produced in either Black & White or Color, quickly and inexpensively. Quantities start at 250 and are an effective way of leaving a photographic reminder that is more memorable than traditional business cards. Name, occupation, contact information and union affiliations can be printed on the cards at a low cost.

Questions & Answers

What are Classic Digital Headshots?
Our 8x10 Classic Digital Headshots are the ultimate in resumé photo reproduction. They are printed in Color or Black & White from digital files or scans on real, photographic paper. They are photographs, not ink-printed lithographs on paper stock. We take as much time with the first prints as we do with a custom print - the same testing to insure best reproduction in terms of exposure, skin tone, and detail – at a very affordable price. We maintain rigid controls that keep that first print quality in every print.

What does Flush mean?
Flush designates a print without a border - the image goes right to the edge of the print. Sometimes, an image has to be cropped to achieve these proportions. Classic Digital Headshots are available either with a border, or flush to the edges.

Are borders in or out of fashion? What about Black borders?
Headshots have come a long way from the same old, cookie cutter look of years ago. Casting agents are seeing Headshots that come in all kinds of formats: horizontal, vertical, with borders, flush with no borders, rough or straight black edges, tight headshots, cropped heads, ¾ body shots, environmental portraits, matte, glossy…the list is endless. The point of a successful headshot is to present your most important asset – you – in as professional a marketing tool as possible. Can I have my name on the photo?
Yes! Adding your name is FREE on new orders! You can select from various type styles. Your name can either go in the border below the image, or appear inside the image.

I don't have a digital file. I only have a contact sheet, negatives, or slides. How do I order Digital Classic Headshots?
The first step is to pick the frame(s) that you like best. We’ll produce a High-Res scan for optimal photo reproduction. The image might have to be cropped or laid out for the best composition (our customer service staff will help you). Keep in mind that the full frame of a 35mm negative is not in the same proportion as 8x10, and must be cropped to fill the 8x10 format if you want a Flush print. If not, there are various border formats that can be chosen.

My photographer gave me a disc with a digital file. Can you make prints from this?
Yes, we can produce prints in either Color or B&W from Digital (computer) files. We can produce our fabulous 8x10 Classic Digital Headshots directly from CD, zip discs or emailed files. Digital files can also be used for our economical Business Cards, Comp Cards or Postcards.

Does Modernage take pictures? I need a photographer!
We can help you reproduce your images to give you important marketing tools, but we don’t have photographers on staff. Visit our Actor Resource Center at 1150 Avenue of the Americas to see sample books of different NYC Headshot Photographers. Check back soon for a new feature on our website which will allow you to view photographer’s portfolios, link to their websites, and contact them directly for more information or to schedule a shoot or an appointment to see their work in person.

Help! I need a little retouching...
No problem! Our artists and technicians are skilled in touching up images so that they look natural. Costs vary according to how much you want done and start at only $35. Actual prices are quoted upon receipt of images and instructions. Our professional retouching may add a bit more time to your order, but it will be well worth it!

Are color prints in quantity expensive?
Color adds impact - particularly when you are representing yourself. We offer Headshot clients special package prices for Color prints that start at only $87 for 50 Color 8x10 prints. These are available in either Glossy or Matte, Flush or with Borders, on real photographic paper.

My image is Color, but my agent wants B&W!
Not a problem!  We can convert digital files to B&W easily. Color slides or color negatives can also be converted to B&W.

I’m need these in a hurry…why do I have to take the time to see a test print?
Because it is not possible for an exact match to onscreen images or prints from other sources, we provide you with a free test print for each image prior to running quantity. This allows you to see an actual, printed sample of your order before running the final quantity. It allows you to check the layout, exposure and spelling for any type for your Headshot or Cards. We can usually have test prints ready to go within two business days, with the final prints ready two days after approval. Retouching can be ordered upon receipt of the initial order or after seeing the test print. Please allow a minimum of one additional day for retouching.

I don’t live in The Big Apple…or I’m too busy auditioning to come in. How can I order Headshots or Cards?
We accept orders online via EMail, in person, or through the mail (Postal). Test prints can be mailed to you if it is not possible for you to come in to our Actor Resource Center to view the tests in person. This way, you can still see an actual sample of your final order (no additional cost for 1st Class Mail). The final quantity can be shipped to you via UPS Ground at very low rates. Faster services are available at additional cost.

Can I have the finished file or do you keep it?
We make re-ordering easy by filing all Digital Classic Headshot orders at no additional charge to you. However, we recommend that you have a copy of your own finished file for your records. The final file (with your name, layout and any other changes such as retouching) can be burned to a re-order CD for only $5.00 at the time of ordering. Postcard, Comp Cards and Business cards are not kept on file, since the information on them tends to change, so a re-order CD is highly recommended for these products.

But I also need my headshot file so I can e-mail it!
No problem. In fact, having your Headshot available for emailing is an excellent idea. Order a CD with BOTH a re-order printing file and a jpeg version of the file. This is only $14.95 at the time of printing (there is a nominal charge for converting the files to emailable jpeg form built into the cost)

How do I re-order?
We file a sample print and the finished file for your 8x10 Classic Digital Headshots. This is a free service that safeguards your image and allows you to re-order by email, phone or fax. Just save one photograph of each of your 8x10 headshots and give us the information printed on the back of the photo. It’s fast and easy…no more lost or damaged negatives! PostCard, Comp Card and Business card orders must be ordered from the Re-order CD you purchased when you placed your initial order. You can also either mail us the CD and a sample card.
